USA shone over the rest of nations involved in the 2019 edition of the Cyprus Open after clinching a total of 4 Senior titles on Sunday. Serbia was the second most successful team, winning 3 gold medals in the category, followed by Greece with 2. Russia, Italy, Ukraine, Cyprus, Croatia and Egypt grabbed 1 title each to complete the 15 Senior divisions in competition last weekend.

The fighters that lifted USA to the top of the medal count in Cyprus were: David Kim, who was the strongest competitor in Men’s -54 kg after defeating Rapsomanikis from Greece in the big final by 1-0; Khalfani Harris, who beat his compatriot Nickolas by 8-3 in the Men’s -68 kg gold medal match to taste glory; Stephen Lambdin, who had to edge another teammate as Healy by a close 7-6 to reign in Men’s +87 kg; and Madelynn Gorman-Shore, who was awarded the gold medal as the Women’s +73 kg champion.
