Seniors – Report

Spain stood out as the best team in Belgrade last weekend after clinching a total of 4 titles at the 17th edition of the Galeb Trophy, which wrapped up on Sunday.

Serbia won 3 gold medals, while Croatia and Kazakhstan took 2. Greece, Great Britain, Cyprus, Russia and Hungary grabbed 1 gold each to complete the 16 Senior divisions in competition.

The golden athletes for Spain in Belgrade were: Adrian Vicente, who reigned in Men’s -54 kg after defeating Kama from Senegal in the final match of the draw by a comfortable 25-8; Javier Perez Polo, who was the strongest in Men’s -68 kg after getting rid of Dzhordzhev from Bulgaria by 13-6; Antonio Artal, who shone over the rest of contestants in Men’s -87 kg after beating Zaharov from Russia by a close 13-12; and Blanca Palmer, who dominated the Women’s -49 kg division after edging Aziez from France by 5-2 in the gold medal match.
