2012 German Open kicked off
The fifth edition of the German Open took place on March 3-4 2012 in Hamburg, Germany. Only a few months before the London 2012 Olympic Games, this WTF G1- ranked tournamentwas hosted at the Sporthalle Hamburg by the German Taekwondo Federation.
The participants came from all over the world, mainly from Germany, Russia, Poland, Iran, Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Great Britain, Turkey, Serbia, but also from non-European countries such as China, Tunisia, India, Vietnam, Argentina, Chile, and Canada.
Junior and Senior female and male categories were disputed in the fifth German Open, in which Turkey became the number one in the country ranking after winning 9 gold medals (total of 25 medals), followed by Iran with 8 gold medals, by Russia with 5, Germany with 3 and China with 1 gold medal, 3 silver medals and 1 bronze medal.
