All set for the Paris Open 2012 to begin
Everything is ready at the Pierre de Coubertin Stadium for the start of the last Kyorugi Senior and Junior tournament on the ETU calendar 2012: the Paris Open. The event will take place between tomorrow Saturday 1st of December and Sunday the 2nd with the participation of more than 300 athletes in the Senior categories and around 200 Juniors.
The spectators of this year’s French Open will have the opportunity to see live some of the top ranked fighters in the world, such as the locals Anne Caroline Graffe and Maeva Coutant, the British Martin Stamper and the Ukrainians Marina Konyeva and Hryhorii Husarov.
The Senior fighters will go through the weigh-in this evening and will then be divided into 8 different draws following the Olympic Taekwondo weight classes:
– Senior Male : -58kg / -68kg / -80kg / +80kg
– Senior Female: -49kg / -57kg / -67kg / +67kg
All Senior titles will be decided on the first day of competition, with the first round matches and the semifinals being played between 8:30 am and 6:30 pm and the 8 big finals scheduled from 7 pm to 9 pm.
Sunday will be the day for the Junior draws, with more than 200 young up-and-coming athletes fighting for a future in our Sport.
The organization of the 2012 Paris Open will use the Daedo Protector and Scoring System (PSS) to decide the final result of all combats.
