Brazilian TV will broadcast Puebla 2013 live
Esporte Interativo, a free-to-air commercial broadcaster from Brazil, has acquired rights to show live coverage of this year’s WTF World Taekwondo Championships, which will take place in Puebla, Mexico, between next 15th and 21st of July.
The main objective of the Brazilian TV channel is to provide its audience with the latest coverage of the most popular Olympic sports in Brazil between every edition of the Games.
Esporte Interativo has signed a wide-ranging agreement with the World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) which includes the exclusive free-to-air and pay-per-view television rights of the Puebla 2013 WTF World Taekwondo Championships.
Despite not holding the rights to broadcast the Olympic Games in Brazil, Esporte Interativo offers a weekly Olympic sports programme aimed to keep the Brazilian sports fans up to date with the most relevant stories of the sports that will be present at Rio 2016.
The signing of the contract with the WTF establishes Esporte Interativo as one of the main TV models regarding the Olympic coverage, as it follows the agreement that the TV channel signed back in 2011 with the Brazilian Government and the Brazilian National Olympic Committee to show different events related to Olympic sports until the beginning of the Rio 2016 Games.
The programming of Esporte Interativo until 2016 includes relevant sports competitions such as the UEFA Champions League and Europa League (football), all the International Judo Federation’s major events and the FIVB World League and World Grand Prix (Volleyball).
