Croatia dominates in Serbia Open

El equipo nacional de Croacia tuvo una brillante actuación en la 11ª edición del Galeb Belgrade Trophy Open de Serbia, colgándose un total de seis medallas de oro en el conjunto de categorías Sénior. Los luchadores croatas lideraron la clasificación final Sénior con 113 puntos tras mostrar un altísimo nivel de Taekwondo durantes las dos jornadas de competitción del evento, que tuvo lugar el pasado fin de semana en el Pionir Arena de la capital serbia. El club ABC de Braga (Portugal) logró subir al segundo peldaño del podio final acumulando 26 puntos, mientras que el club Azija de Serbia obtuvo la tercera plaza con solo un punto menos, 25.
Mateja Kunovic en la categoría -46 kg, Ana Pavlovic en -49 kg, Jelena Ivancic en -53 kg, Martina Zubcic en -57 kg y Tihana Zivkovic en -73 kg, fueron las integrantes femeninas del combinado croata que obtuvieron la medalla de oro. En las modalidades masculinas, el héroe croata y único medallista de oro fue Lovre Brecic, quien derrotó al iraqué Mustafa Ahmed Adel en la final de -54 kg. Cada una de esas medallas de oro otorgó 7 puntos a Croacia en la clasificación por equipos final, que se añadieron a los puntos obtenidos después de ganar cada uno de los combates del torneo (1 por cada victoria).

El segundo triunfador del Campeonato fue el club ACB de Portugal, que se benefició de las medallas de Rui Braganca, Nuno Costa y José Fernandes para llevarse la lucha por el segundo cajón del podio frente al club Azija de Serbia. Braganca venció al croata Stipe Jarloni en la final de -58 kg y Costa se deshizo de Ninoslav Babic de Serbia en el combate decisivo de -63 kg, mientras que Fernandes consiguió colgarse el bronce en -68 kg, modalidad en la que se impuso el búlgaro Vladimir Dalakliev.
Los puntos del club Azija fueron fruto de la medalla de plata de Violeta Babic en el cuadro de +73 kg, Viktor Milovanovic, que se alzó con el oro en -74 kg al vencer al croata Toni Kanaet, y Dorde Marcetic, finalista de la modalidad de -87 kg, ganada por el alemán Dionys Kronreif.

Un total de 828 competidores de 30 países distintos participaron en esta 11ª edición del Open de Serbia, que utilizó el sistema PSS de la empresa española Daedo para ayudar a los colegiados a decidir el resultado final de los combates celebrados en los 8 tatamis del Pironi Arena,

WTM[:]The Croatian National Team displayed a magnificent performance in the 11th edition of the Galeb Belgrade Trophy Serbia Open taking a total of 6 gold medals in the Senior categories. Croatian fighters led the final Senior standings with 113 points after showing a really high Taekwondo level during the two days of the event, which took place last weekend in the Pionir Arena of the Serbian Capital. ABC Club from Braga (Portugal) reached the second step of the final podium with 26 points and Club Azija from Serbia took the third place with only one point less, 25.
Mateja Kunovic in the Women’s -46 kg categoy, Ana Pavlovic in -49 kg, Jelena Ivancic in -53 kg, Martina Zubcic in -57 kg and Tihana Zivkovic in -73 kg, were the Female members of the Croatian National Team awarded with the gold medals. In the Men’s modalities, the Croatian heroe and only medalist was Lovre Brecic, who defeated the Iraqi Mustafa Ahmed Adel in the under 54 kg final. and Each of their golds gave Croatia 7 points for the standings which were added to the points collected for them after every match they won during the Torunament (1 point for every win).

The second triumphant of the event was the ABC Club from Portugal, who took profit of Rui Braganca, Nuno Costa and José Fernandes’ medals to win the race for the second step of the final podium against the Serbian Club Azija. Braganca beat the Croatian Stipe Jarloni in the under 58 kg’s final and Costa got rid of Ninoslav Babic from Serbia in the under 63 kg’s crucial match, while José Fernandes managed to take a bronze in Male’s under 68 kg, won by the Bulgarian Vladimir Dalakliev.
Club Azija’s points came from the silver medal of Violeta Babic in the Female’s over 73 kg modality, Viktor Milovanovic, who won the Men’s under 74 kg category gold over the Croatian Toni Kanaet, and Dorde Marcetic, finalist of the under 87 kg draw, won by the German Dionys Kronreif.
