Day 2 – Report
Egypt finished on top of the medal count at the first ever Morocco Open 2015, which was held last weekend in Agadir with more than 400 athletes in competition, after being the only nation to reach a total of 3 gold medals. Canada, Dominican Republic, Morocco and Tunisia won 2 titles each, while Spain, France, Vietnam, Portugal and Ireland took 1 gold to complete the 16 divisions in play.
The Egyptian heroes in Agadir were Abdelsalam, who reigned in Women’s -49 kg after beating Chifra from Ethiopia by 3-1 in the crucial fight, Elsawalhy, who was the strongest athlete in Women’s -67 kg after defeating Lua Piñeiro from Spain by superiority in the final and Eissa, who climbed to the top of the Men’s -74 kg podium on saturday after edging Afonczenko from Australia in the gold medal match by 7-2.

Day 1 – Report
Tunisia was the only nation to clinch more than 1 title on the first day of action at Morocco 2015 Open, who kicked off yesterday in the city of Agadir. Rahma in Female’s -53 kg and Oussama in Male’s -87 kg were the Tunisian champions of the day, while the other 6 gold medals were awarded to Kim from Vietnam, who dominated the Female’s -46 kg division, Pagnotta from Canada, who reigned in Women’s -62 kg, Sandra Lorenzo from Spain, who proved to be the strongest in Female’s -73 kg, Woolley from Ireland, who climbed to the top of the Men’s -54 kg podium, Nuno Costa from Portugal, who gave no chance to his opponents in Men’s -63 kg, and Eissa from Egypt, who was the best among the Men’s -74 kg competitors.

Preview
The first ever Morocco International Taekwondo Open will kick off tomorrow in Agadir with no less than 437 Senior athletes in competition fighting for the 16 titles in play.
The event, organized by the Moroccan Royal Federation for Taekwondo, will be the first G-1 category competition in the country. It is sanctioned by World Taekwondo Federation (WTF) and will last until Sunday November 29 at Inbiaat Sport Venue in Agadir city.
Daedo has been chosen as the protector and scoring system (PSS) to be used for the two days of competition, which will offer as well the Instant Video Replay option to all the competitors taking part in the event.
The Head of Team meetings and the drawing of lots session will be conducted this afternoon in the presence of the OC officials and the representatives of the Technical Delegates.
