Electronic Protectors likely to be used at the World Cup Taekwondo Team Championships

The electronic protectors are likely to be used at the World Cup Taekwondo Team Championships, organized by the World Taekwondo Federation.
The WTF is pushing ahead to use electronic protectors at the 2012 World Cup Taekwondo Team Championships that will kick off on the following 11th.
In May 29, during the World University Taekwondo Championships, the electronic protector was tested for team competitions in presence of personnel from the WTF sports division.
The test was focused on whether there would be any problems in the addition of scores during a match in which 5 team members rotate randomly to fight.
As a result of the test, no problems were found in the aggregation of scores.
Seung-Min Lee from the WTF sports division said that, “There have been no problems today. However, the joysticks for team competitions are still being produced, and therefore we will repeat the tests once they are completed. If nothing unexpected happens, the electronic protector will be used at the World Cup Taekwondo Team Championships.”
Daedo International President Mr. ChuenWook Park said about such test that, “the joysticks will be ready at the end of June. Lab tests have already been carried out in Spain and I expect no problems during the competition”.
If the electronic protector system is used at the World Cup Taekwondo Team Championships in Aruba, the men’s division will include from 68kg to 80kg and the women’s will include from 49kg to 62kg, using the same force levels in each.[:]
