Russia set the standard at the 2019 edition of the World Taekwondo Europe Cadet Championships, which was held this week in Marina d’Or, Spain.
Russian athletes collected a total of 9 gold medals, 6 taken by male and 3 by female fighters, six more titles than the second nation in the final standings, Turkey, who reached a total of 3.
Russia also grabbed 5 silvers and 8 bronzes, achieving a significant distance from the rest of teams involved and standing out clearly as the best team in the competition.
The third country in the medal count ended up being Greece, who accumulated no less than 2 golds, with Belgium finished the event as the other team to have tasted glory more than once in Spain, with 2 titles as well.
United Kingdom, Spain, Belarus and Hungary were the other nations to step on top of the podium with 1 title each.
The World Taekwondo Junior Championships will be held at the same venue in the coming days, with the most prominent fighters from the old continent taking part in the event.
