First ever World Beach Taekwondo Championships to be held in Bali
New Competition, New Competitive Format
Pristine sands will provide the competition arena and sparkling seas will form the backdrop as the WTF launches its first-ever World Beach Taekwondo Championships in Bali, Indonesia on June 4-5, 2016.
“The 1st WTF World Beach Taekwondo Championships provides our athletes with a new setting, new uniforms and a new look – and we expect new stars to emerge,” said WTF President Chungwon Choue. “The event will also be a showcase for our sport the run-up to the inaugural ANOC Beach Games in San Diego in 2017,”

The event is open to any athlete with a WTF Global Athlete License and dan or poom rank certificates as issued by the Kukkiwon, the sport’s classification body. There will two male and two female age divisions.
Twenty WTF international referees will oversee the tournament, which will be based on the modified WTF Poomsae Competition Rules and Interpretation. WTF anti-doping procedures will be followed.
