Fujairah Open 2020 (G-2): Jordan and Turkey stand out with 4 titles
Jordan fighters combine for more silver and bronze medals to reach the first place in the standings

Jordan finished the 2020 edition of the Fujairah International Taekwondo Open on top of the medal count after collecting no less than 4 gold medals, 3 silvers and 4 bronzes on Sunday to stand out as the best nation in the Senior division of the event.
Turkey did also perform at a very high level in UAE last weekend and managed to tie with 4 titles with Jordan, but had to content with the second place in the final standings after grabbing only 1 bronze medal in addition to the 3 golds.
Germany, Chinese Taipei, Greece, UAE, Mexico, Brazil, Croatia and Kazakhstan took 1 title each to complete the 16 classes of the Senior competition.
The 4 Jordan champions that led their country to the first place in the medal count were: Natali Hamaidi, who proved to be the strongest fighter in Women’s -62 kg after getting rid of Sadikova from Uzbekistan by 2-1 thanks to a golden point in the final; Julyana Al-Sadeq, who dominated the Women’s -67 kg class after defeating Tursunkulova from Uzbekistan by 9-5 in the gold medal match; Zaid Alhalawani, who took the Men’s -58 kg throne after beating Rezaee from Afghanistan in the last fight of the draw by 25-15; and Zaid Kareem, who shone over the rest of competitors in Men’s -68 kg after edging Mansouri from Afghanistan by a close 18-17 in the crucial fight of the division.
