German Open 2020 (G-2): Spain leads the stands with 3 golds
Turkey grabs 3 titles as well in Seniors, but has to content with the 2nd place after winning less silvers and bronzes

Spain finished on top of the medal count at the 2020 German International Taekwondo Open after winning 3 gold medals, 2 silvers and 2 bronzes in the Senior division of the event, which was held last weekend in the city of Hamburg.
Turkey ended up taking the second place in the overall standings despite taking 3 titles as well as Turkish fighters were able to add just 1 bronze to the 3 gold medals.
Poland and Croatia were the other 2 nations to step on top of the podium more than once with 2 titles, while Serbia, Great Britain, Ivory Coast, Niger, Dominican Republic and USA tasted glory once each to complete the 16 categories in competition.
The 3 Spanish fighters that led their country to the victory in Hmaburg were: Sara Cortegoso, who dominated the Women’s -46 kg division after defeating Guruz from Germany by a comfortable 15-2 in the gold medal match; Joan Jorquera, who proved to be the strongest competitor in Men’s -63 kg after getting rid of Ozkaya from Germany by disqualification; and Daniel Ros, who shone over the rest in Men’s -87 kg after beating Holubowicz from Poland by withdrawal in the crucial fight of the draw.
