Azerbaijan shone over the rest of nations involved in the Helsingborg Open 2020, a G1 category event which kicked off on Saturday in the Swedish city, after winning 6 gold medals in the Senior division.
Brazil, Spain, USA and Germany won 2 titles each, while Israel and Latvia took 1 to complete the 16 Senior classes in competition on Saturday.
The 6 Azerbaijan representatives that led their country to the top of the medal count in Helsingborg were: Bahruz Guluzad reigned in Men’s -54 kg after defeating Kotyash by 13-3 in the gold medal match of the category; Gashim Magomed triumphed in Men’s -58 kg after beating Yunta from Spain by a clear 27-13; Javad Aghaye dominated the Men’s -68 kg class after getting rid of Krivishkiy from Israel in the crucial fight of the draw by 41-31; Aykhan Taghiza shone over the rest of contestants in the Men’s -74 kg division after edging Yerko from Ukraine by 9-5; Radik Isaev, who climbed to the top of the Men’s +87 kg category podium after outscoring Healy from USA by 18-6 in the gold medal match; and Patimat Abakarov set the standard in Women’s 53 kg after defeating Folgmann from Germany in the big final by 9-6.
