Korea added 2 more gold, remains First

Korea won another 3 gold medals on the second day of the 9th WTF World Junior Taekwondo Championships, leaving the rest of the countries far behind.
On April 4th, the male -51kg and -73kg and female -46kg and -63kg categories were disputed, and Korea won gold medals in the male -51kg, -73kg and female -46kg categories. Adding these 3 to the 2 medals won on the first day, Korea is leading the overall results by country with an impressive total of 5 gold medals.
In the male -51kg category, Dae-Yeong Kim won over Suttisak Janthong from Thailand and met Iranian Mohammad Kazemi Foushazdeh in the final. Kim finally beat Foushazdeh after a tight match that went to a sudden death round.
In the male -73kg category, Jong-Hoon Won won 9-8 against the Greek athlete Apostolos Telikostoglou.
As for the female -46kg category, Min-Ji Lim earned the gold medal after beating overwhelmingly her opponents with impressive scores: 17-0 in quarterfinals, 10-5 in semifinal and 10-2 in the final match. The silver medal went to the Thai athlete Apitchaya Chaikaew.
In the female -63kg Durdane Altunel fought the quarterfinals and won against the Korean Min-Ji Lee, in a tight match that went to a sudden death round. In the final match, however, she lost against German Schneider Yanna with a score of 3-4. This is the first time Germany wins a gold medal at the World Junior Taekwondo Championships.
The categories to be disputed on the third day, April 6th, are: male -55kg and -78kg, and female -49kg and -68kg.
