Korea will use Daedo PSS for National Team Selection
The Korean Taekwondo Association has decided to use Daedo PSS for selecting the National Team participating at the 2013 World Taekwondo Championships of Puebla, Mexico.
The KTA has been the only National Federation using KP&P PSS at all important competitions within Korea, a decision which brought negative results at the London 2012 Olympic Games and other international competitions.
As a consequence, the newly formed KTA Executive Committee has decided to use Daedo PSS for selecting the athletes representing Korea in Mexico.
There are currently 3 candidates per weight category and the KTA is planning to gold up to 3 evaluation sessions (1st: April 5th, 2nd: May 10th, 3rd: June 10th) to select the final team.
The athletes who are most likely to be in Mexico are London Olympic silver medalist Dae-Hoon Lee (men’s -63kg), Beijing Olympic gold medalist Su-Jeong Lim (women’s -57kg) and Hye-Mi Park (women’s -67kg), who beat two times Olympic gold medalist Kyung-Seon Hwang.
The 1st and 2nd winners per weight category of the 3 evaluation sessions will be representing Korea at the World Taekwondo Championships in Mexico and the East Asian Games in China respectively.
