Seniors – Report
Spain set the standard in Luxembourg this weekend after clinching no less than 4 senior titles at Luxembourg Open 2018, with France and Russia finishing as the other nations with more than one gold medal with a total of 2 each. Belgium, Norway, Greece, Ukraine, Czech Republic, Germany, Croatia and Great Britain managed to reach the top of the podium in one occasion to complete the 16 senior divisions in competition.
The Spanish champions in Luxembourg this weekend were: Adrian Yunta, who reigned in Men’s -54 kg after getting rid of Rapsomanikis from Greece by a clear 22-9 in the big final of the draw; Judith Rodriguez, who dominated the Women’s -46 kg division after beating Alicia Rodriguez from Mexico in the gold medal match by withdrawal; Marta Calvo, who proved to be the strongest in Women’s -62 kg after defeating Beros from Croatia for the glory by a comfortable 31-16 score in the crucial fight of the draw; and her sister Eva Calvo, who left no chance for surprises in Women’s -67 kg, adding another title to her collection after edging Koerndl from Germany by 13-9 in the last fight.
