Spain and Great Britain tied on top of the medal count at Luxembourg Open 2019 after clinching 3 titles each on Saturday action. Spain managed to grab the first place in the standings thanks to winning 3 silvers and 5 bronzes, while Great Britain added 1 silver and 2 bronzes to the 3 titles and had to content with the second place.

Chinese Taipei, Belgium and France won two golds each, while Niger, Russia, Egypt and Brazil tasted glory once each to complete the 16 Senior divisions in competition.

The 3 golden fighters for the Spanish team in Luxmebourg were: Daniel Quesada, the bronze medallist at Manchester 2019 World Championships, who reigned in Men’s -74 kg after getting rid of Asp from Norway by a comfortable 17-4; Adrian Vicente Yunta, who proved to be the strongest in Men’s -58 kg after edging Fakinos from Greece in the big final by withdrawal; and Marta Calvo, who added another medal to her collection after beating Ben Yessouf from Niger in the Women’s -62 kg final by 5-1.
