Morocco gets two golds on 2nd day of Arab Games
On December 15th, the second day of the 12th Arab Games Taekwondo competition took place at the Qatar Sports Center, in Doha. The categories fighting on this day were male -58kg, -80kg and female -49kg and -67kg.
Two Moroccan athletes, Issam Chernoubi (-80kg) and Sanaa Atabrour (-49kg) were winners in their categories. Chernoubi made it to the finals after winning 14-2 against Abdullah Hassan (Kuwait) and 16-7 against Mahmoud Said (Egypt).
The final against Nabil Hassan(Jordan) was tighter, with only a one-point gap. On the other hand, Atabrour won against Dana Touran (Jordan) by one point in the semifinals and 8-1 in the final against Radwa Nada from Egypt.
In male -58kg, Egyptian Tamer Bayoumi beat his opponent Mohammed Tlish with a tight 5-4 and in female -67kg Jordanian Nancy Abu Bader earned the gold medal after winning 9-4 her opponent Hend Mostafa.
The competition will go on until December 17th.
