Official Schedule for World Junior TKD Championships Started in Egypt

The official program of the 9th WTF World Junior Taekwondo Championships started on April 1st in Sharm El-Sheikh, 3 days before the start of the competition on April 4th. The program started with a referee meeting and training.

The meeting that started as early as 9:30 am on April 1st counted with the presence of Chakir Chelbat, chairman of the WTF Referee Committee; Jean Marie-Ayer, Secretary General; Man-Sik Choi, Deputy Executive Director, and Philippe Bouedo, chairman of the WTF Games Committee, who encouraged the referees for their work.

Chakir Chelbat introduced the training program that would take place for the referees on April 2-3 in the same premises, at the Sharm El-Sheikh Covered Hall.

The referee training is focused on the competition rules. This is something especially important because the same rules will be applied in the upcoming London 2012 Olympic Games.

There are 85 referees participating in this competition, 27 from which are Olympic referees and 10 are video replay judges.

On April 2nd from 2 p.m. the WTF Council Meeting will take place at the Renaissance Hotel. The representatives meeting and drawing of lots will be conducted at the Suez Canal International Congress Center and on April 3rd the WTF General Assembly will take place in the same location.

The opening ceremony of the championships will take place on April 4th at 5 p.m.
