28th South East Asian Games
Singapore, Singapore
12-14 June 2015
Report
Vietnam climbed to the top of the 28th South East Asian Games Taekwondo competition after collecting 5 gold medals out of the 15 titles in play between last Friday and Sunday in Singapore. Thailand and Philippines followed Vietnam with 3 titles each, as Singapore and Indonesia also managed to take 2 thrones.
Vietnam set the standard with a great team work, but there were some names that standed out over the rest of athletes. In the individual categories, Nguyen became the new Men’s -58 kg champion, Truong clinched the Women’s -46 kg title and Ha proved to be the strongest in the Women’s -62 kg division, while in the Team competitions, Chau, Nguyen and Nguyen climbed to the top of the Women’s Poomsae podium as Nguyen and Nguyen did in the Mixed Pair Poomsae one.
