Day 3 – Report
Spain won its 4th gold medal at the 2018 Mediterranean Games on Saturday to reign at home thanks to Javier Perez Polo’s victory over Chamalidis from Greece in the Men’s -68 kg final by a clear 17-3. The other gold medal of the day was taken by Ana Bajic from Serbia, who gaver her country the first title in the event after getting rid of Ble from France in the Women’s +67 kg final by 5-1.

Day 2 – Report
Spain clinched two more titles on Friday to take the top of the medal count with a total of 3 golds at Tarragona 2018 Mediterranean Games. Croatia was the other nation to step on the top of the podium, grabbing its first title in the event.
The golden fighters for Spain were: Jesus Tortosa, who left no chance taste gold for the rest of contestants on the Men’s -58 kg draw after edging Bragança from Portugal in the big final by a clear 15-2; and Raul Martinez, who proved to be the best in Men’s -80 kg after outscoring Eissa from egypt by 17-14 in the gold medal match.
In Women’s -67 kg, Matea Jelic from Croatia tasted glory after beating Laurin from France in the last fight of the draw by a close 9-7.

Day 1 – Report
Turkey dominated the first day of the Tarragona 2018 Mediterranean Games after clinching 2 out of the 3 gold medals awarded on Thursday, with Spain grabbing the other title of the day to start in a successful way its journey in this competition, which is being held at home for them. Both Spain and Turkey also managed to take 1 bronze each, while Macedonia, Egypt and Croatia grabbed the silver medals of the day. Croatia also took 1 bronze, as well as Serbia, Morocco and France.
Rukiye Yildirim proved to be the strongest athlete in Women’s -49 kg after beating Tomi from Croatia in the big final of the draw by 12-11 in a very close fight which wasn’t decided until the very last second; Irem Yaman shone over the rest of fighters in Women’s -57 kg after defeating Elsayed from Egypt by a clear 8-0 in a very comfortable final; and Daniel Ros gave the local crowd their first big win of the event after getting rid of Georgievski from Macedonia in the Men’s +80 kg final clash by a clear 24-9.
