The ‘Taekwondo Gala Show’ made its first ever appearance at the Chuncheon International Taekwondo Open Championship 2011.
This Taekwondo Gala Show was prepared as the Special Event for the 8th Chuncheon Open and took place on the 4th day of the event (July 17) at the Hoban Indoor Gymnasium, Chuncheon City.
This Gala Show was organized as a separate event from the Chuncheon Open and was prepared with many fancy performances that are hard to find in any Taekwondo championship or event.
The opening was undertaken by K-Tigers, a Korean demonstration team which is very active in both home and abroad performances.
The K-Tigers matched the demonstration with the five-consecutive-times World Poomsae Champion myth, Master Young-Ae Seo, and Dae-hoon Lee, known as the most promising Taekwondo athletes in Korea, mixing traditional and fusion Taekwondo.
This was followed by a 5-man group Taekwondo match by cadets. The energetic boys’ groups match and the cute girls’ Taekwondo performance was received by the audience with a passionate response.
What made the audience’s enthusiasm arouse the most was a battle between a B-Boy team and K-Tigers. The reaction of the Taekwondoists was fervent, especially for those coming from abroad.
After the battle, there was a demonstration of Master Sin-Chul Kang, very famous in Iranian Taekwondo.
Apart from the original Taekwondo Championship, this Taekwondo Gala Show has been estimated to have the potential of being very successful by itself.
