Day 4 – Report
Cuba and USA won their third gold medal at Toronto 2015 Pan American Games and tied on top of the medal count with 2 bronzes as well as Rafael Alba (CUB) and Jackie Galloway respectively became new champions of the Men’s +80 kg and Women’s +67 kg divisions. Alba climbed to the top of the podium after beating Carlos Rivas from Venezuela in a comfortable final which finished 11-4 , while Galloway struggled to get rid of Maria Espinoza from Mexico by 1-0 in the other crucial fight of the day.
Philip Yun (USA) and Marc-André Bergeron (CAN) were awarded with the bronzes in Men’s +80 kg, while Raphaella Galacho (BRA) and Jessica Bravo (COL) did the same in Women’s -67 kg after being the strongest in the repechage phase.
With these results, Cuba and USA tie on top of the final standings with 3 golds and 2 bronzes, followed by Mexico with 2 golds, 4 silvers and 1 bronze.

Cuba and USA won their second gold medal at Toronto 2015 Pan American Games as Jose Cobas (CUB) and Paige McPherson respectively became new champions of the Men’s -80 kg and Women’s -67 kg divisions. Cobas climbed to the top of the podium after beating Moises Hernandez from Dominican Republic in a thrilling final which finished 10-9 , while McPherson smashed Victoria Heredia from Mexico 13-1 in the other crucial fight of the day.
Steven Lopez (USA) and Rene Lizarraga (MEX) were awarded with the bronzes in Men’s -80 kg, while Daima Villalon (CUB) and Alexis Arnoldt (ARG) did the same in Women’s -67 kg after being the strongest in the repechage phase.

Day 2 – Report
Mexico won its second medal at Toronto 2015 Pan American Games as Saul Gutierrez beat local idol Maxime Potvin by 6-3 in the Men’s -68 kg final. In the other crucial fight of the day, USA took its first title as Cheyenne Lewis smashed Paulina Armeria from Mexico by 11-0 to climb to the top of the Women’s -57 kg.
Colon (PUR) and Trejos (COL) were awarded with the bronzes in Men’s -68 kg, while Patiño (COL) and Nuñez (CUB) did the same in Women’s -57 kg after being the strongest in the repechage phase.

Day 1 – Report
Cuba and Mexico took the first 2 gold medals at Toronto 2015 Pan American Games after Yania Aguirre (CUB) and Carlos Navarro (MEX) respectively became the new Women’s -49 kg and Men’s -58 kg champions on Sunday.
Aguirre had to fight for the gold until the very last second of the final, as her opponent in the gold medal match, Itzel Manjarrez from Mexico, made a solid performance which led the match to a close 10-9 at the end of the 6 regular minutes.
The bronzes in the Women’s -49 kg division were awarded to Iris Silva (BRA) and Candelaria Martes (DOM), who were the strongest athletes in the repechage.
On the other hand, Navarro also struggled to beat Luisito Pie from Dominican Republic 8-7 to taste glory in Men’s -58 kg. The other medalists of the category were Harold Avella (COL) and Lucas Guzman (ARG), who respectively defeated Maduro (ARU) and Torres (BRA) in the bronze medal matches.
