Traditional Protectors will be used in BAKU Qualification

Traditional protectors will be used at the World Qualification Tournament for 2012 London Olympic Games, instead of using Electronic Protectors(PSS).

The World Taekwondo Federation has sent a letter to all MNAs just 3 days before the beginning of the Tournament, on June 27th, informing that traditional protectors will be used instead of the PSS.

The reason why the WTF has made this decision is because the other WTF Recognized PSS company, LaJust, has filed a request for an injunction against the use of non-LaJust PSS at the World Qualification Tournament, claiming that the WTF had broken the agreement between the two parties. The request, which was filed to the Seoul Central District Court, has been approved and therefore PSS will not be used at this Tournament.

The World Qualification Tournament for 2012 London Olympic Games will be held in Baku, Azerbaijan, from June 30th until July 3rd.

Any decision regarding the use of PSS can significantly affect the competition, hence athletes and coaches from all participating countries will probably be rather startled at the fact that there has been such a decision just before the Tournament starts.
