World Taekwondo Kyorugi Rankings: April 2020 – Top 10

14 athletes retain their top spot in the standings while Zhao replaces Achab as the leader of the M-63 division and Martins Soares overtakes Larin in M-87

Take a look at the current status of the 16 weight division rankings of the World Taekwondo as of April 1st 2020. Eight male athletes and eight female fighters lead each of the standings and are considered the current dominators of our sport worldwide.

Yvette Yong still seats in the Women’s -46 kg class, Panipak Wongpattanakit (Thailand) leads the Women’s -49 kg division, Tatiana Kudashova (Russia) comands the -53 kg one, Jade Jones (Great Britain) does the same in Women’s -57 kg, Irem Yaman from Turkey (Daedo Team) holds the first place in Women’s -62 kg, Matea Jelic retains the Women’s -67 kg crown, Milica Mandic of Serbia (Daedo Team) repeats as the best Women’s -73 kg qualified athlete, and Bianca Walkden (Great Britain) reigns in Women’s +73 kg one more month. Therefore, the Women divisions have suffered no significant changes in the last month.

In the Men’s caegories, Jun-seo Bae (Korea) stays in the top spot of the Men’s -54 kg class; Jang (Korea) still seats in the M-58 kg’s throne; Taekwondo superstar Dae-hoon Lee (Daedo Team) of Korea dominates the Men’s -68 kg division; world silver Daniel Quesada (Spain) holds the first position in M-74; Maksim Khramtcov (Russia) remains on top of the Men’s -80 kg class and Kyo-don In retains his first place in the Men’s +87 kg standings.

After several months in the lead of the Men’s -87 kg class, Vladislav Larin from Russia has now been overtaken by Icaro Miguel Martins Soares from Brazil, who becomes the new dominator of the division by a margin of only 0.40 points. The other change in the Men’s standings of the current month has affected the Men’s -63 kg category, which is now reigned by world champion Shuai Zhao from China, who has replaced Jaouad Achab from Belgium, the leader of the class until March 31st.

The points awarded to each athlete take into consideration all the events held until the end of March 2020 on the World Taekwondo official calendar.
