WTF Referee-Coach Joint Training Camp in Suzhou, China
The Olympic referees and coaches from the countries participating in London 2012 will gather at the ‘WTF Referee-Coach Joint Training Camp for London 2012 Olympic Games’, from June 8th until 12th in Suzhou, China.
The WTF has organized training programs for referees and coaches, but this will be the first joint training camp.
The participants of this training camp are the 30 Olympic referees and coaches from the 63 countries that will be present in London 2012. According to the WTF, as of June 7th, 65 coaches from 39 countries had signed up to participate.
The ultimate goal of this referee-coach joint training camp is the success of the London 2012 Olympics. Therefore, special attention is given to new features in this edition: the use of the electronic protector and the video reply systems.
The training camp will start with two days of training for referees on the 8th and 9th, followed by referee-coach joint training on the 10th and 11th.
The WTF knows the importance of the London 2012 Olympic Games for Taekwondo to become a permanent Olympic sport. Therefore, the joint training will also be useful to increase the awareness of the importance of this year’s Games among the referees and coaches.
